Can you believe it? It’s just about time to get those seeds started for the year! I’m SO excited to get back into the garden for another season – growing some of my favourite, tried and true favourite varieties like Nantes Coreless carrots, and French breakfast radishes; but also to try out a ton of new varieties of vegetables that I already love! If you’re currently in the market for seeds, my biggest suggestion is to grow what you love to eat, and find varieties that are best for your growing conditions. Choosing the right seeds for the amount of sunlight you get, and your type of soil is key to having a successful crop!
In this blog, I want to share all of the seeds that I’ve ordered to grow in 2025 which include some beneficial flowers, and of course, vegetables. Everything featured in today’s blog is from West Coast Seeds, however I also order some flower seeds from Johnny Seeds, and regularly purchase from local farms as well. Let’s get into it!
Flowers
When it comes to growing flowers in the garden, I love incorporating beneficial flowers such as calendula, nasturtiums, zinnias and marigolds to bring in pollinators, and keep unwanted pests away! Here are the flower seed varities I’ve purchased this season:
Oklahoma Salmon (Zinnias)
Oklahoma Ivory (Zinnias)
Tip Top Alaska Salmon (Compact Nasturtiums)
Tip Top Alaska Mix (Compact Nasturtiums)
Sugar and Spice (Marigolds)
Pacific Beauty Mix (Calendulas)
In addition to these flowers, I’ll also be adding some strawflowers, cosmos and other marigold varieties as well. Keep an eye on my Instagram to see more as the season goes on!
Vegetables & Herbs
When it comes to vegetables and herbs, there’s a few varieties that I like to continuously purchase as I know they are successful in our garden, and our family loves them! Some of these include Moranga Pumpkins, Sweet Million Tomatoes, French Breakfast Radishes, and Nantes Coreless Carrots. Here are all of the vegetable & herb seeds I’ve purchased for our 2025 garden:
Cucumbers
Herbs
Emerald Tower (Basil)
Squash
Hamilton Certified Organic (Butternut)
Victory Early (Butternut)
Radishes
Pumpkins
Peas
Beets
Potatoes
Beans
Sunset (Runner)
Dragon Tongue (Bush)
Ferrari (Bush)
Matilda (Pole)
Zucchini
Tomatoes
Spinach
Lettuce
Chard
Carrot
There you have it! My entire list of seeds that I’ve purchased for the upcoming garden season (though I’m sure I’ll end up buying a few more here and there as well!). I’m very impatiently counting down the days to get back into the garden, and I’m sure you are too! Let me know in the comments below what you’ll be growing in your garden this year.
